Getting organized!!

I have been going through Mason's clothes, packing up all his 18 month old outfits. Yes crying as I pack, my lil boy will be 2 in just a few short weeks. I will not say he has grown too fast...or where has the time gone. I love that he is growing, I love each stage. But as he gets older I am having a lot more fun with him! Here are some before and after pictures of his closet! Never mind the quality... I am having fun with my instagram!

I will always remember Feb 9 5:55 pm. I get a call from my mother, one of many throughout the day. I hesitate to answer, I don't want to hear what she has to say. This was the call I received. With tearful gasps my mother tells me she has lost her mother, my grandmother. Nothing prepares you for those words, those feelings. Wanting to be there to kiss her good bye. To thank her for the many many many glorious memories I have with her and Grandpa. My grandma was a gift to me from Heavenly Father. My mothers mom Beverly died when my mom was nine. I will never know her in this life. My Grandpa did the best thing ever, he married my Grandma Joyce and joined together 2 families and made them into one...the best that she could do. What a strong woman she was, I will go as far as saying she is FANTASTIC! Utah will never be the same for me, Gma won't be there with open arms to give me kisses and to tell me how much she missed me and loves me. I will take comfort in knowing she will be looking down on us daily. I will strive to make her proud, to remember her always. Sadly I think the ones that pass have it easy, they get to go to Heaven and be with loved ones that have passed on. Not to mention be in the presence of our Heavenly Father. It's my Grandpa that will have the hardest time, I think about him at this time and my heart breaks for him. It's not fair to lose two wives in one lifetime. I will say how lucky he was to love twice and be loved in return by many. Grandma Joyce, I love you. I love you so much, thank you for raising my mother and loving her as your own.

Life at the Bailey household seems to always be adventurous with little Mason around. His 2nd Birthday is coming up next month, time had flown! Our Christmas was surrounded by family and friends with lots of laughs and fun!!
On a side note, I logged into my blog this morning and saw that I moderate my comments. I had no idea I had that setting. I read all of your sweet comments, they made me cry and warmed my heart at the same time. Life does go on and the pain does get less and less. Hopefully I will have a delightful update soon...PLEASE....;))

My favorite time of the year is here!! With that comes food, reunions of friends and family, Christmas music, shopping and an overwhelming feeling of Gratitude and LOVE!! When we go and visit my parents Mason is lucky enough to go with Opa to feed the cows and chickens!!

So now to the sad part that I am cautious to share because it still hurts me and I think it will for the rest of my life. At the beginning of Oct I went in for my 12 week appointment. I was so so excited to hear my sweet babies heart beat. Marc didn't come with me because it's a fast appointment, hear the heartbeat and then I am out of there! He put the heart beat thing on my tummy to hear the heartbeat. He moved up and down...all around but still couldn't hear anything but my heartbeat. I wasn't worried at all, I had a really calming feeling come over me. So we went on to do an ultra sound. This would be the 4th time I got to see my babe. I had complications at the beginning which required to see the progress of the baby. So the ultra sound was up and running, still no heart beat and no blood flow to the baby. My heart was racing, I was in disbelief. Do another ultra sound I said...that is the vaginal one...(so TMI) Same outcome. I couldn't believe it, at the time it never crossed my mind that my body would do this to me. I thought I was invincible, I don't smoke, drink or put anything harmful in my body. I just sat there not knowing what to do or how to feel. Dr Klingler was with me the whole time. I was yearning for Marc and Mason but at the same time scared to go home and tell them that our baby went back to Heavenly Father. After the Dr. talked to me and told me my options I opted for a D&C the next morning. I prayed and prayed, cried and cried and cried. I found comfort in my lil Mason, he knew something was wrong, he didn't leave my side all day. I went in reluctantly the next morning to have the babies sweet body removed. I knew the spirit moved on and had an overwhelming feeling of calmness and reassurance that I will one day be able to mother that child. Whether here on earth or in heaven above that baby will always be mine. I went to stay with my mom for 4 or 5 days. I needed time to grieve without Mason seeing me sad all the time so my mom helped me take care of him. Those days at my parents was a blessing. It has almost been two months since I found out. The pain is still there but it is bearable. The love I received from friends and family was healing to my heart and soul. I know this is personal, I never wanted to share it. But too many of my friends were due at the same time as me and they all had miscarriages around the same time. I find strength from these special women we will move on from this, knowing one day we will hold that babe. I will cherish every second I have with Mason and Marc. I have never had anything taken from me like this, or from my life period. It's humbling and reassures me that I will be reunited with all my family.
Thanks for reading and letting me share this sad and hopeful time in my life.

Amazing how fast time fly's when you are having fun! I never thought in a million years that I would be sealed to the wonderful man that I am sealed to today! ;) 4.5 years ago I was in Africa...single with no thoughts of getting married anytime soon. I was actually planning on staying another year out there cause I was having fun! I signed up for MySpace Jan. 6th, received a message from Katie Bailey asking me to write her brother Marc who was on a mission in Germany. Sayyyy WHAT? I have had a crush on him for soooo long. I used to think what it would be like to just talk to him...let alone date him. I literally had nothing to lose. I wrote him....he wrote back...this went on back and forth till the beg. of March. I called him in Germany when he was off his mission and playing basketball out there. I was still in Africa working...had the urge to quit...so I did. I gave up a job that was paying me over 6 figures...for a chance on love. I came home...2 weeks later I fly out to see Marc in Germany (Mid April). Stay out there for 10 days...fall in love.. I come home blissful and happppppyyyy! I get home and check my answering machine...find out I was getting deployed to Afghanistan AGAIN... noooo this can't be happening. I WANT TO SETTLE DOWN...START MY LIFE. I suck it up and have a very tearful conversation with Marc letting him know I won't be flying out again to see him in Germany and won't see him for a year. HE FLY'S HOME THE NEXT DAY!! Say WHAT :) I am a very happy girl! The time comes and I am about to deploy...bags packed and all. The day of my departure Marc is there...Sad, worried, concerned, in love. Time goes by and my 1st SGT tells me that I don't have to go...DOUBLE SAY WHAT...too many emotions at that time to really express how I was feeling! The stars really did align for us, Heavenly Father was truly blessing me and answering my prayers. May 25th he proposed at the Denver Temple and we were married July 21st. It was a fast whirlwind romance, one of the greatest rides of my life. My patience really worked out for me. I married the most patient~loving ~ hard working man that I know. Thank you Marc for being everything that you are, for loving me and our son with all that you have! To the rest of Eternity, I LOVE YOU!!

So I finally started running again. Pre Mason it was 6 miles a day...now I have worked up to 4 miles a day. But now that I am back in the swing of things it's hard for me to justify eating this!!
Whatever...I just might have to do it...make a batch...keep a dozen and give the rest away. That's what I have been doing lately...except I use half the dough...and throw the rest away. I know I know...so wasteful...but it works for me. Maybe now I will be a new favorite neighbor and give them away...except they may not like that I am pushing sweets on them. 1 month later 10lbs heavier. I still think it's worth it. Now I am just ranting and I need to get to baking!! BTW...16 more days till Mason is 1....WHAT... where did the year go!

I have always wanted to learn how to be crafty, so I finally stopped making excuses and sewed a blanket for Mason. I wasn't sure that it would turn out great but I didn't mind cause it was for Mason and he didn't know any different! Amazingly it turned out great and I am in the process of making another. Emily and I have a play date later this week to make Halloween. Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter decorations! So lucky to have an awesome Sister in law!

To all moms that are still using the hospital nose squeeze...STOP! Mason has a cold and none of his snot will come out....he just spits it out then it goes back in..sick I know. I have been having a hard time getting his nose cleaned so I took him to the doctor and she told me about this awesome new product called Nosefrida! It truly is amazing, the second I used it sweet Mason was able to breath again!!

Things are going awesome for us here in Laramie, ask me that a month ago I would have said different. Marc had his 3rd knee surgery on the 25th of May. He was still covered under insurance so that was a blessing, but the fact that we didn't have a job was very stressful. Our prayers were answered on June 2nd when we found out he got the Manager position here at our apartment complex and I got the maintenance position. It is working out so well and thank Heavenly Father everyday! Marc has one more year and then we will be applying for medical school next August. I am enjoying every second of being a mother, Mason is such a blessing! Here are some updated pictures of him. I can't believe he is already 4 months!!

Mason sure has been such an amazing addition to our family. He is so sweet and it is truly amazing how instantly you can fall in love. Besides the lack of sleep at night..and day...he is so content, happy and so lovable. My days are going by really fast and he is already getting so big...is there a slow down button on them? What a surprise!! Our sweet baby boy decided to come a week early! He was born Feb. 26, 2010 at 5:48 PM~ 7.5lbs and 20 1/2 inches! He is the sweetest little guy, so easy going and loves to sleep, eat and have his diaper changed often! Marc and I are so very happy! Here are some pictures of our little Mason!

So I went to my 36th week appointment and asked about induction and how safe it is!! I really want Dr. Storey to Deliver our son, so knowing that induction is perfectly safe Marc and I will be welcoming our sweet baby boy in less than 28 days!! I can't believe that it is already here! I have had a wonderful pregnancy besides some heartburn! His nursery is all set up and I will post pictures once I have some of the Decorations up! So Marc and I are super excited to just find out the sex of our baby last Thursday! I am 21 weeks and feeling amazing...HE must really REALLY LOVE ME!! Marc has it set in his mind to call him Kobe...ummmmmm.....noooo! HAHA...but for now that is what Marc calls him! Here are some picture of the Ultra Sound. He was moving so much...and is so active! Marc and I think he will be a giant.. I have 4 brothers that are 6'5 and under and the same with his. The doctor did assure me that he will be at least a 7lb baby...marc was 10lbs 12os. How did you do it Sandy?

***Also for a quick update on Marc...we are living in Laramie to finish up his sciences so he can apply for Med school. He is so smart and works so hard...top of his all his classes!! YEAH!!

(NEVER EVER come to Liverpool for a visit) Now we are the biggest fans of England...outside of Liverpool and have so much fun learning about all the history! And not to mention all the great local food and music!! We will definetly miss living here!!!

Marcus and I seem to never get out of the house because we don't want to get lost or we just don't know where to go. Finally one of his teammates invited us to go to Manchester with him to go eat and to his parents house to watch the Manchester United game vs Inter Milan. Well...I am still baffled and amazed at the place he took us last night. It was like a Fortress Mall. So beautiful and so pristine. The pictures don't even show the elegance and ambiance of the Mall. If I had money I would go crazy in that place! Oh and this mall is ranked #1 in malls in all of Europe! I guess next week we are going to an indoor skiing arena!!

Marc and I had the opportunity to go to the Slave Museum here in Liverpool. There is so much history here that we are finally beginning to explore. Now that the weather seems to be getting nicer I know that we will be exploring more. Also in the museum was information and exhibits of WWI & II and the Titanic. Funny how a trip to a museum can change my perception on so many things that I thought I knew. Here are some photos from outside the museum!!

BBL Cup Champions!!!!

This past Sunday Marcus played in the BBL (British Basketball League) Cup Championship. It was in Birmingham, which was great because it was in a nicer arena! They played the Plymouth Raiders who unfortunately gave them no challenge whatsoever. Marc scored 26 of the 103 points, it was really fun to watch him even though the opposing team gave no challenge! There are three more Trophies to win..though we have no idea the meaning behind any of them....it's just fun to go and watch my husband have fun!!

I just wanted to share this recipe with all of you. This dessert is what my husband calls...."The best dessert he has ever had"!! I thought he was joking until I tried some...I usually don't eat all the goodies I make him...but this time I wanted to eat the whole pan...so we quickly wrapped the bars up in tin foil and gave them out to his teammates!! Now I am craving them all the time...

Peanut Butter Brownies

1 c. butter

1 c. sugar

1 c. brown sugar

2 eggs

2/3 c.peanut butter

1/2 tsp. salt

1 tsp. soda

1 tsp. vanilla

2 c. oats

2 c. flour

Mix butter, sugar, brown sugar, egg, peanut butter, soda, salt and vanilla well. Stir in oats and flour. Spread dough onto greased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 minutes at 325 degrees. Do not over bake!!! Cool. When cool, spread with chocolate butter frosting! Enjoy!

Chocolate Butter Frosting

1/2 c. softened butter

1/2 c. cocoa

4 1/2 c. powdered sugar

1/4 c. milk

1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

In a mixer, beat butter until fluffy. Add cocoa and beat until well combined and creamy. Gradually add 2 cups of the powdered sugar, beating well. Slowly beat in the 1/4 c. milk and vanilla. Slowly beat in remaining sugar. Beat in additional milk, if needed, to make of spreading consistency.

So Marc and I are about to burst out in excitement...just the thought of going home in a couple days!! England is beautiful and exciting...but there is truly no place like home...and Marc and I
can tell you first hand about how hard it is to be away from family. Marc being away on his mission in Germany and me being in Afghanistan and Africa can make someone want to be home when it is in their control. I thought I would post some pictures that we took the other day when Marc had a day off.. he wanted to show me this park that overlooked Liverpool...it was really beautiful!! Marc and I were lucky enough to go to a Manchester United and Everton Football game a couple weeks ago. We both had so much fun and the atmosphere was amazing. We sat just four rows from the field...though we do wish that we were higher up so we could get a better view of the game!! No complaints here though...I felt as though all I needed to do was reach out my hand and I could touch Ronaldo...hummm!! Marc wanted me to focus on getting as many pictures of him as I could...no complaints here!! I was DELIGHTED!!!

Wow, I can't believe how long it has been since I have been on this. Well, I will be writing on here more often since Marcus and I will be away from friends and family for 8 months. I have to say that Marcus and I are so excited to be moving to England. I have always wanted to live in England after visiting there a couple years ago...and here we are getting all prepared and packed up to begin more memories in such a beautiful country. Marcus has the opportunity to play basketball again. We have given up on that dream last year when we just decided together that its for the best that we just move on from the idea of ever playing pro. Ahhh... one of the many blessing and opportunities that we are given to try it one more time. We are hoping and praying that his knee will hold up and we will be able to hop around to many different countries in the years to come. Hopefully we will build a family in each country we are in....or maybe not...just a thought!!! ;) I believe that Marcus and I will become very familiar with the Beatles and allot of the UK bands that we love so much...Keane, coldplay and many others that I just cant think of at the moment!! Oh by the way Stock family....we are going to show up at your parents door step one day to say hello. I believe they are only 90 minutes away from where we will be staying!!

I am going to post a couple more photos from the past summer!!! Marc will not be happy when he sees all the ones that I posted of him!! HAHA

The Beginning

Since Marcus and I are new to the blogging world, we figured we might as well let everyone know how the two of us met. Never in my life did I imagine my life would turn out the way it did. How blessed and lucky am I to have experienced all that I have. I always knew that Heavenly Father had much more in store for me than I could ever imagine, so I was patient and lived my life day by day. Does anyone else believe in timing and know that every decision you make and experience you have will prepare you for what is to come. When I was deployed to California/Uzbekistan I was able to see Marcus before I left, not knowing that he was about to embark on an adventure of his own to Germany to serve a Mission. Once I was done with my deployment with the Military I decided to move to Djibouti Africa to work as a Civilian for ITT. What an adventure I had as I learned a new skill and made some life long friends. I was there for 11 months before I started to write Marc. It was all because of Katie (Marc’s sister) that any of this happened. She wrote me on myspace (an account I had for a day or two before she wrote, talk about divine inspiration) and told me to start writing her brother Marc. With hesitation I decided to go on and write him knowing that I had nothing to lose and everything to gain. I started writing him January 6, 2007. Not expecting an immediate response I was surprised to have a message from him the next day. I knew right away that this was something special, so I would write him once a week until he got off his mission in March. Then it was game on…I was so lucky to get to know him through phone conversation that would last for hours and also through msn messenger webcam. It made my last couple months in Africa go by so fast. Once I was home from Africa I flew out to see him in Germany for a week!! What a week that was…within an hour meeting him for the first time we were stuck in a traffic jam on the autobahn…wanting to just kiss him so bad I dove in!! HAHA…he was so shocked but I know that he wanted to kiss me and I was the one that had to make the first move!! THAT I DID!! That night we told each other that we loved one another…I don’t care what people say…when you know you are in love…you just know and I wanted to shout it to the world. While we were hanging out in Germany I felt as though I have always known him, I was so comfortable with him. I can honestly say that throughout this whole experience I felt as though I knew him so long ago and we were picking up the pieces from time lost. As he was dropping me off at the Airport I said to him…..see you in a week…because I was going to fly out and see him for another 10 days… I just had to go home and take care of some business. Within 24 hours of being home I received a voicemail from my sergeant stating that I will be deployed within a week and to pack my bags and take care of personal issues. I was heartbroken, I finally felt as though I can start to live my life and this was being thrown at me. All I could think about was Marcus.. I called him right away and let him know what was going on. We were both crying…just really heartbroken. Without hesitation Marc stated that he was on the next plane home… I was shocked…not expecting that from him. But that’s what you do when you love someone…you do whatever it takes. So that day he told his coach in Germany what was going on and he was on the next flight out. What a feeling that was, to know that finally I have found the one…and that is when I knew. I accepted the fact that I was going to be deployed again to the Middle East and knew that Marc and I were strong enough to handle this and it would only make us closer. Well the day we were supposed to fly out I found out that I was able to stay home…what shock and relief Marcus and I felt. My goodness…. I just can’t explain it. After that Marcus and I were engaged a week later, he surprised me at the Denver Temple…not expecting a proposal for a year or so. But time doesn’t matter when you know that you are starring into the eyes of the one you want to spend all of Eternity with. We didn’t plan on having a speedy engagement, Marcus was expecting to play basketball again overseas, but due to a hurt knee it was for the better that we stayed home. We are living in Laramie working and finishing up school, we know that we have great things in store for us. We are so blessed to be happy, healthy and have a loving family surround us. There is so much more to this story that I will share at later date.

I find it amazing how life can come together, finding everyday as a new adventure. A chance for Marcus and I to make a diffence in one another's life and hopefully touch the life of those around us. How blessed are the two of us to be Eternal companions, to know that whatever may happen in the future we are Eternally bound!!

We were all about to go Christmas Caroling, which is a Bailey tradition. As you can see Marcus was more than enthused to have his first caroling back home in two years and my first ever! Just to think that Marcus was in Germany this time last year and I was in Prague (trying to get away from the heat of Africa). Nothing is like being at home with our family, snow, and many feast big enough to feed a village. Not to forget my beautiful sister in law Katie who is always good for a laugh!!
